Maryann Kot has been working in art for most of her life and has recently received a certificate in Nature Illustration from the Art Institute at the Desert Museum in Tucson, Arizona. Maryann works in watercolor, colored pencil, and oil. She has an enthusiastic desire to express herself in realism. Her focus is on nature and still life paintings. She has just recently moved back to the California East Bay and is enjoying and being inspired by the beauty this area offers.

"Realism is an art form that expresses nature as seen purely, whether it's light, color, texture, or composition. There are, however, always one or two particularly striking features that my work revolves around. Bringing these aspects to the forefront makes the piece come to life."     Maryann Kot
