Maryann is an experienced teacher, working with students of various skill levels in several art mediums. She has a certificate in nature illustration from the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum. The three year certificate program has a strong curriculum in drawing and colored pencil. She has been teaching colored pencil and drawing for the last 7 years. Maryann teaches at the Bothwell Arts Center in Livermore, CA.
In addition to drawing and colored pencil classes, she also offers two day workshops in composition and pen and ink and she is available for private lessons as well. Beginners will learn the properties of the colored pencil, color theory, and how to create realistic drawings. Intermediate students will review basic principles of colored pencil and learn more colored pencil techniques. All students will be able to create their own colored pencil projects at the end of each five week session.  Basic Drawing 5 classes per session New sessions start every 6 weeks This class is for the beginning artist and the artist who would like to improve their knowledge of basic drawing techniques to bring better results to the artwork they produce in other mediums they are working in now. The session starts with the basics of drawing that include site techniques, three dimensional development, and composition. It quickly focuses on nature drawing. Whether the artist is interested in detailed nature illustration or a more artistic expression of nature drawing, this class has all that is needed to complete desired results. |
